Version 2026.06
Plain-language summary, not legal advice. These terms describe what we expect of you and what you can expect from us while using Heard.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You must provide accurate information about yourself, including your real name and a valid email address. Elected officials may only claim a representative account through a verified invite.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.
You own the posts, comments, and other content you create. By posting on Heard, you grant us a limited license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the platform. You can delete your content at any time, which removes it from public view.
Heard exists to connect constituents with elected officials in public. Posts, comments, votes you cast on bills, follows, and similar activity are public by default and tied to your display name. Don't share anything here you wouldn't want associated with you publicly.
If you claim a representative profile, you confirm you are the named official (or are an authorized staff member acting on their behalf). Your voting record, posts, and statements will be visible to the public and tied to your office.
You can delete your account from settings at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
Heard is provided as-is. We try to keep voting records and rep information accurate, but we don't guarantee correctness or availability. Verify anything important against the official source.
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the version number and notify active users at next sign-in. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
