SB 1606 - This act requires health benefit plans that are delivered, issued for delivery, continued, or renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2027 to provide coverage for the treatment of obesity and severe obesity for persons between the ages of two and twenty years old, and the diseases and ailments caused by obesity and severe obesity. Health care services required by this act shall not be subject to any greater deductible or co-payment than any other health care service provided by the health benefit plan. Provisions of this act shall not apply to a supplemental insurance policy as determined by the director of the Department of Commerce and Insurance.
