SB 1781 - This act increases the compensation schedule for various elected county officials. Beginning on August 28, 2026, the new schedule shall be used to compute salaries, however, it shall not be implemented until the first day of the next term of office for the newly elected or re-elected county official. This act provides that any salary adjustment after August 28, 2026 shall not decrease the current salary of any official. Further, a new formula for the computation of future salary increases for elected county officials is implemented. This act is similar to provisions contained in the truly agreed to and finally passed SS/SCS/HB 1825 (2026), SCS/HB 3000 (2026), and HCS/HB 3496 (2026). TRISTAN BENSON, JR.
